A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF
TWO NEW COMMUNITY SHUTTLE BUSES FROM ATLANTIC BUS
SALES, PIGGY-BACKING OFF FROM THE CITY OF OLDSMAR,
FLORIDA CONTRACT (BID NO. B-04-06), IN AN AMOUNT OF ONE
HUNDRED SIXTY-SIX THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY-SIX
DOLLARS ($166,486.00), TO BE PAID WITH FUNDS PROVIDED TO
THE CITY BY THE PEOPLE'S TRANSPORTATION PLAN 1/2%
SURTAX; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL
THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to purchase two new community
shuttle buses for expanded bus routes to serve the residents and tourists of Sunny Isles Beach;
and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to purchase two Shuttle Buses, piggy-backing off from the
City of Oldsmar, Florida, Contract (Bid No. B-04-06), and has received a proposal from Atlantic
Bus Sales, in an amount of $83,243.00 for each bus, for a total amount of $166,486.00, to be paid
for with funds provided to the City by the People's Transportation Plan 1/2% Surtax.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
purchase the two Shuttle Buses from Atlantic Bus Sales, piggy-backing off from the City of
Oldsmar, Florida, Contract (Bid No. B-04-06), in an amount of $166,486.00, to be paid for with
funds provided to the City by the People's Transportation Plan 1/2% Surtax, and do all things
necessary to effectuate the terms of this resolution.
Section 2.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of March, 2004.
