A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY, TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT A FLORIDA
COMMUNITIES TRUST GRANT THROUGH ITS FLORIDA FOREVER
PROGRAM, FOR THE POSSIBLE ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY
LOCATED AT THE ATLANTIC ISLE BEACHFRONT (FOLIO NO. 31-2214-
008-0251), AND PROPERTIES LOCATED ADJACENT TO GOLDEN
SHORES POCKET PARK AT 19142 COLLINS AVENUE (RAMUNNO
PROPERTY - FOLIO NO. 31-2202-009-0020), AND 19165-75 COLLINS
A VENUE (ECHA V ARRIA AND PRATS PROPERTY - FOLIO NO. 31-2202-
009-0010) FOR OPEN SPACE AND PARK LAND, IN AN AMOUNT OF UP
TO SIX MILLION SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($6,600,000.00);
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE ANY AND ALL ACTION
NECESSARY WITH RESPECT TO THE OBTAINING AND DISTRIBUTION
OF GRANT MONIES, AS APPROPRIATE; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Florida Communities Trust through its Florida Forever Program provides
grants to governmental entities for the acquisition or development of land for public recreational
uses, in an amount of up to Six Million Six Hundred Thousand Dollars ($6,600,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to purchase property for the preservation of open
space as park land or environmental significance in the southern portion of the City, for the benefit of
its residents and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is desirous of exploring the possibility of
acquiring property located at the Atlantic Isle Beachfront (Folio No. 31-2214-008-0251), and
properties located adjacent to Golden Shores Pocket Park at 19142 Collins Avenue (Ramunno
Property - Folio No. 31-2202-009-0020), and 19165-75 Collins Avenue (Echavarria and Prats
Property - Folio No. 31-2202-009-0010) for open space and park land; and
WHEREAS, obtainment of a Florida Communities Trust grant would reimburse the City in
an amount of up to $6,600,000.00, if awarded, for the acquisition of these properties.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authority to Apply For and Accept Grant. The City Manager is authorized to apply
for and accept a Florida Communities Trust grant, in an amount of up to $6,600,000.00 for the
possible acquisition of property located at the Atlantic Isle Beachfront (Folio No. 31-2214-008-
0251), and properties located adjacent to Golden Shores Pocket Park at 19142 Collins Avenue
(RamunnoProperty-Folio No. 31-2202-009-0020), and 19165-75 Collins Avenue (Echavarria and

Prats Property - Folio No. 31-2202-009-0010) for open space and park land.
Section 2. Authorization of the City Manager. The City Manager is authorized to take any and
all action necessary with respect to the obtaining and distribution of grant monies, as appropriate.
Section 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
