A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF TWO
ADDITIONAL MEMBERS TO THE HISTORIC
PRESERVATION BOARD, PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE
NO. 2004-214, CHANGING THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS
ON THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD FROM
FIVE (5) TO SEVEN (7); PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission created the Historic Preservation Board through
Ordinance No. 2004-197 adopted on April 15, 2004, providing for standards and review for the
preservation of historical properties within the City; and
WHEREAS, an amendment to that Ordinance was adopted on September 22, 2004,
Ordinance No. 2004-214, adding two additional members (at-large) to that Board to provide
recommendations to the City Commission regarding the designation of historic properties within
the boundaries of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission desires to appoint two additional at-large
members to the Historic Preservation Board listed below on the Resolution.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Appointments to the Historic Preservation Board. The City
Commission hereby approves the two additional appointments (at-large) of Hassida (Cassey)
Gabor and Phillip Chernoff to the Board, attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
Section 2. Mandated by Ordinance No. 2004-197 and 2004-214. Board members shall be
governed by the terms of Ordinance No. 2004-197 and Ordinance No. 2004-214.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
PASSED and ADOPTED on this 14th day of October, 2004.

Re: RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF TWO ADDITIONAL
MEMBERS TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution.
REASONS:
Ordinance No. 2004-214 was adopted by the City Commission at its meeting of September 22,
2004, increasing the number of members to the Historic Preservation Board by two members, for
a total of seven Board members. The appointments are at-large and the City Commission desires
to appoint Hassida (Cassey) Gabor and Phillip Chemoff to the Board.
