RESOLUTION NO. 2004- '110\5
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH,
FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH F.D.F. DESIGNS STUDIO FOR A
BRONZE SCULPTURE WITH PEDESTAL OF A FAMILY
GROUPING WITH SUN AND BIRDS FOR INSTALLATION IN
THE SAMSON OCEANFRONT PARK WHICH DESIGN, PRICE
AND TERMS SHALL BE FINALLY APPROVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION; AND FURTHER PROVIDING THE CITY
MANAGER WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, F.D.F Designs Studio of Seaford, New York met with the Mayor and
proposed the concept of creating a bronze sculpture for the Samson Oceanfront Park and;
WHEREAS, the City Commission informally reviewed several designs and at a public
meeting came to a consensus on the one they wished to see delivered, and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authority of the City Manager. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City
Manager to negotiate and enter into an agreement with F.D.F. Designs Studio for the design and
delivery of a bronze sculpture similar to the one selected informally by the City Commission and
for an amount and on the terms to be negotiated with the artist provided the City Commission
shall finally approve the terms of said contract. Said agreement shall be reviewed by the Office
of the City Attorney. The City Manager is also authorized to do all things to effectuate this
Resolution.
Section 2.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of December, 2004.
