A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF
PARK BENCHES, TABLES, TRASH RECEPTACLES, AND BIKE
RACKS FOR SAMSON OCEANFRONT PARK FROM VISIONS
INNOVATED PRODUCTS, INC., UNDER MIAMI-DADE COUNTY
CONTRACT NO. 076-BBOl, IN AN AMOUNT OF $13,442.57, ATTACHED
HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A",; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is in need of replacing the existing site
furniture for the benefit and welfare of its citizens and visitors; and
WHEREAS, Visions Innovated Products, Inc. provided a quote under the Miami-Dade
County Contract No. 076-BB01 of Thirteen Thousand, Four Hundred and Forty Two Dollars and
Fifty-Seven Cents ($13, 442.57); and
WHEREAS, these site amenities will greatly enhance the aesthetics of the park and
eliminate the potential hazard the deteriorating furniture may cause, and in conjunction with that
effort the City wishes to contract with Visions Innovated Products, Inc., piggy-backing off the
Miami-Dade County Contract, for the purchase of park benches, picnic tables, trash receptacles,
and bike rack, in an amount of$13, 442.57, attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Purchase. The City Commission hereby approves the purchase of the
site amenities from Visions Innovated Products, Inc. in an amount of $13,442.57.
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of December, 2004.

Re: PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT SITE AMENITIES AT SAMSON OCEANFRONT
PARK
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution approving the purchase
of replacement site furniture from Visions Innovated Products,Inc.,utilizing Miami-Dade County
contract# 076-BB01.
REASONS
Due to the harsh saltwater conditions and extensive usage,the site furniture at Samson Oceanfront
Park is in need of replacement. The existing furniture is rusted beyond repair and in some cases has
been removed to prevent injuries. The proposed furniture has a thenno-plastic coating that should
help protect it from the elements.
The attached proposal secures 2004 prices. The 2005 prices are expected to increase dramatically as
the cost of materials has increased this past year.
