A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 2004-654 AND NO. 2004-727 BY
REMOVING HERB ABRAMSON FROM AND
APPOINTING TRINA DULUC TO THE HISTORIC
PRESERVATION BOARD AND CHANGING ELLEN
WYNNE FROM VOTING MEMBER TO LIFETIME
HONORARY MEMBER OF THE BOARD, AND
APPOINTING BONITA SHOKI TO THE BOARD;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission created the Historic Preservation Board ("Board")
through Ordinance No. 2004-197 adopted on April 15, 2004, providing for standards and review
for the preservation of historical properties within the City, and Ordinance No. 2004-214
increasing the number of members from five to seven; and
WHEREAS, the Board will provide recommendations to the City Commission regarding
the designation of historic properties within the boundaries of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission appointed the members for the Historic
Preservation Board via Resolution No. 2004-654 and No. 2004-727; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to amend the membership of the Board, specifically,
removing Herb Abramson from and appointing Trina Duluc to the Board and amending Ellen
Wynne's status to that of Lifetime Honorary Member, and appointing Bonita Shoki to the Board.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Removals and Appointments to the Historic Preservation Board. The
City Commission hereby amends Resolution No. 2004-654 and No. 2004-727 by removing Herb
Abramson from and appointing Trina Duluc to the Historic Preservation Board and changing
Ellen Wynne from a voting member to Lifetime Honorary Member of the Historic Preservation
Board, and appointing Bonita Shoki to the Board.
Section 2. Mandated bv Ordinance No. 2004-197 and No. 2004-214. Board members shall
be governed by the terms of Ordinance No. 2004-197 and No. 2004-214.
Section 3.

Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
PASSED and ADOPTED on this 13th day of January 2005.

Re: RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE
HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution.
REASONS:
The City Commission created the Historic Preservation Board through Ordinance No. 2004-197
and amended it through via Ordinance No. 2004-214 increasing the number of members from
five to seven. Herb Abramson has resigned from the Board and Commissioner Brezin desires to
appoint Richard C. Schulman to replace Mr. Abramson. The Commission also desires to change
Ellen Wynne's status from a voting member to Lifetime Honorary Member of the Historic
Preservation Board.
