A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
APPOINTING ERICA WRIGHT AS "ACTING CITY
ATTORNEY" PENDING THE SELECTION OF A
CITY ATTORNEY BY THE CITY COMMISSION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the present City Attorney will be departing on May 13,2005; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution 2005-789 the City Commission has constituted a
blue-ribbon committee for the selection of a new City Attorney: and
WHEREAS, that selection will not occur for another 120 days; and
WHEREAS, during that period of time the City will need an Acting City
Attorney and Erica Wright is currently the Assistant City Attorney.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Appointment of Acting City Attorney. Erica N. Wright is hereby
appointed as "Acting City Attorney" until the selection of a permanent City Attorney by
the City Commission. Upon assumption of the position by the selected City Attorney,
Erica Wright will return to the position of Assistant City Attorney.
Section 2.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

Appointing Erica N. Wright as Acting City Attorney
Recommendation:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached Resolution.
Reasons:
Between the time of my departure and the selection and employment of a new City Attorney, this
City will need an "Acting City Attorney" to execute documents and attend to business. Inasmuch
as Erica is the Assistant City Attorney this Resolution appoints Ms. Wright "Acting City
attorney" pending the selection of a new City Attorney by the Commission.
At such time as that City Attorney is st:ated, Erica Wright will return to her position as Assistant
City Attorney.
