A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE
ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION FROM THE SUNNY ISLES
BEACH RESORT ASSOCIATION, IN THE AMOUNT OF FIVE
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00), TO PAY FOR THE
ADDITIONAL COSTS OF THE FIREWORKS BARGE
PRESENTATION AT THE CITY'S 8TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach desired to have a fireworks display at the
City's 8th Anniversary event on Saturday, June 18,2005; and
WHEREAS, the City entered into an agreement with Zambelli Fireworks Internationale
for a fireworks display presentation, which included a barge in the ocean, a Coast Guard permit,
and miscellaneous water related costs, in an amount not to exceed $26,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the cost to secure the barge was increased by Five Thousand Dollars
($5,000.00) because of additional fuel and staff expenses; and
WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Resort Association has graciously offered to donate
Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) to the City to pay for the additional costs of the fireworks
barge presentation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The recitals contained 10 this resolution are
incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. Approval of Acceptance. The City Commission hereby approves the acceptance
of a donation from the Sunny Isles Beach Resort Association, in the amount of Five Thousand
Dollars ($5,000.00), to pay for the additional costs of the fireworks barge presentation at the
City's 8th Anniversary event.
Section 3. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 4.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

In accord with our conversations, the Resort Association is pleased to co-sponsor a
portion of the cost for the fireworks barge presentation, attendant to the Eighth
Anniversary Celebration of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, scheduled on June 18th,

Re: APPROVAL OF ACCEPTANCE OF DONATION FOR FIREWORKS FROM THE
SUNNY ISLES BEACH RESORT ASSOCIATION
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution to approve the
acceptance of a donation in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) from the Sunny Isles
Beach Resort Association to partially sponsor the fireworks display from Zambelli Fireworks
International for the city's 8ih anniversary celebration on Saturday,June 18, 2005.
REASONS:
It was the request of the City Commission to provide a fireworks display at the city's 8`” anniversary
event for the residents. The cost of the barge for the fireworks increased by $5,000.00 due to
additional fuel and staff expenses. The Sunny Isles Beach Resort Association offered to cover the
additional expense to insure that the fireworks display would be the quality event the city had
originally planned.
