RESOLUTION NO. 2005- B~ 1
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING
THE HALL IN FRONT OF THE ELEVATORS ON THE FIRST
FLOOR IN SUNNY ISLES BEACH GOVERNMENT CENTER
AS "HISTORY HALL" WITH A SEPARATE PLAQUE
ENGRAVED "RICHARD C. SCHULMAN, HISTORIAN";
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Sunny Isles Beach began its growth in the early 1920's as an unincorporated
area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach became the 30th municipality in Miami-Dade
County on June 16, 1997, and is "The Crown Jewel of South Florida"; and
WHEREAS, the City has collected and captured representative pictorial places and events
depicting the City's history from the beginning to the present, and through the efforts of City Staff
and particularly City Historian Richard C. Schulman, have maintained a pictorial story; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to put these on public display by designating the hall in front of
the elevators on the 1 st floor in the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center as "HISTORY HALL"
with a separate plaque engraved "Richard C. Schulman, Historian".
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Designation of History Hall. The City of Sunny Isles Beach hereby designates the
hall on the first floor of Government Center across from the elevators as "HISTORY HALL" with a
separate plaque engraved "Richard C. Schulman, Historian".
Section 2. Authorization of the City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of September, 2005.
