A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING NOR.MA'IJ<;. fD~LC.lAP
AS THE CITY'S DELEGATE TO THE MIAMI-DADE LEAGUE OF
CITIES AND G'EJ2R."( ~'Dm~ A) AS THE ALTERNATE TO
ATTEND MEETINGS DURING FISCAL YEAR 2005/06; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach wishes to provide for voting representation at
the Miami-Dade League of Cities throughout the coming year;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
Appointment of Delegate and Alternate. The following members of the City
Commission are hereby appointed for one year as delegate and alternate to
represent the City of Sunny Isles Beach at the Miami-Dade League of Cities
meetings:

Section 2.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of September 2005.

Re: Designation of Voting Member and Alternate Voting Member to the Miami-
Dade League of Cities
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution designating a member
of the Commission to be a voting delegate to the Miami-Dade League of Cities and another
Commission member to be the alternate.
REASONS:
One City official and an alternate in his/her absence need to be authorized to vote on Miami-
Dade League of Cities matters.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
During Fiscal Year 2004/05 Mayor Edelcup has served as the delegate and Commissioner
Goodman served as the alternate. The current one-year term expires on September 30, 2005.
The Miami-Dade League of Cities' Annual Installation Banquet will occur on October 6, 2005,
therefore the Commission should designate a delegate and an alternate to the Miami-Dade
League of Cities. Any elected official may attend a League meeting at any time. The purpose of
the above representative and alternate is solely for voting authority.

City Attorney At its regular meeting of September 8, 2005,the City Commission adopted Resolution
Jane A_ Hines No. 2005-832, which designated Mayor Norman S. Edelcup as the City's delegate and
City Clerk Commissioner Gerry Goodman as the City's alternate to the Miami Dade League of
Cities for fiscal year 2005/2006. Attached is a copy of the resolution for your records.
