A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING
THE PURCHASE OF SPEED HUMPS FROM ROADTECH
MANUFACTURING COMPANY, FOR THE GOLDEN
SHORES AREA, IN THE AMOUNT OF SIXTEEN
THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED EIGHTY-EIGHT DOLLARS
AND NINETY-FOUR CENTS ($16,688.94); AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY
TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to install speed humps in the Golden
Shores area for the safety and welfare of its citizens and visitors; and
WHEREAS, Roadtech Manufacturing Company has submitted a proposal in the amount
of Sixteen Thousand Six Hundred Eighty-Eight Dollars and Ninety-Four Cents ($16,688.94) for
the purchase of 115 hump pieces and 24 end caps, including shipping; and
WHEREAS, the City's Public Works Department will install the speed humps on every
cross street and two speed humps each on North Bay Road and Atlantic Boulevard.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Purchase. The City Commission hereby approves the purchase of
speed humps from Roadtech Manufacturing Company for the Golden Shores area, in the amount
of$16,688.94.
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of January 2006.

Speed Hump Purchase Approval
At its regular meeting of January 19,2006, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2006-
877, which approved the purchase of Speed Humps from Roadtech Manufacturing Company for
the Golden Shores area. Attached is a copy of the approving resolution and quote to assist you in
processing this item.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the commission approve the purchase of "Speed Humps" from Roadtect
Manufacturing Company, located in Oak Park, n. The speed humps and shipping charges costs
$16,688.94.
REASONS:
Due to constant complaints of speeding in the Golden Shores area, we want to place speed humps
on every cross street and two speed humps each on North Bay Road and Atlantic Blvd. It is
estimated that we will need 115 hump pieces@ $119.99 and 24 end caps @ $ 89.99 per. Shipping
the material is $730.33
