RESOLUTION NO. 2006- 8B ~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE RENAMING OF THE
MAYOR'S ADVISORY COUNCIL'S HEALTH AND COMMUNITY
ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE TO THE "COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES AND
HEALTH COMMITTEE"; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, at the December 12, 2005 meeting of the Health and Community Activities
Committee, several members made a formal request that the Commission consider changing the
name of the Committee; and
WHEREAS, the members stated that the Committee focuses mainly on community
activities, and felt their name should reflect this; and
WHEREAS, the Committee has requested their name be changed to "Community Activities
and Health Committee".
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Rename the Health and Community Activities Committee. The Mayor's Advisory
Council/Health and Community Activities Committee shall be renamed the "Community Activities
and Health Committee".
Section 2.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day of January, 2006.

Resolution No. 2006-882, which renamed your Committee the "Community

RECOMMENDATION:
This Resolution is presented for your consideration and approval.
REASONS:
At the December 12, 2005 meeting of the Health and Community Activities Committee, several
