RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution to approve an
agreement with Zambelli Fireworks Manufacturing Company, Inc. to provide a fireworks display,
with a barge, on Saturday, June 17, 2006 for the City's Ninth Anniversary celebration in the amount
of Twenty Eight Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars ($28,500.00).
REASONS
City Commission expressed a desire to have a high quality fireworks show for the city's annual
anniversary event. Zambelli Fireworks is a licensed and insured pyrotechnics company that
provided the fireworks display for the City's Eighth Anniversary event. They are familiar with this
area, the permining process, have access to a barge that is required for our show and they have
contracts with several other government agencies nationwide.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Fireworks in this city require a barge to fire them from the ocean. Rising fuel costs have increased
the price of the barge and the fireworks. The contracted amount will provide the same length and
concentration as last year's display. This agreement piggybacks on the contract Zambelli currently
has with the City of Boca Raton. All terms, conditions, prices, and specifications of the City of Boca
Raton's approved RFP No. 2005-079 apply to our agreement. Contract amount includes all
expenses and permining fees. I cenify that funds are available for this agreement in Special Events
account 10.572.5574.
