A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ACCEPTANCE
OF A DONATION IN AN AMOUNT OF $600.00 (SIX HUNDRED
DOLLARS) FROM CONCERNED CITIZEN'S OF NORTHEAST DADE
COUNTY TO SPONSOR CHILDREN TO ATTEND THE CITY SUMMER
DA Y CAMP PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO
ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach provides a fee for service summer day camp
program; and
\VHEREAS, Concemed Citizen's of Northeast Dade County is a non-profit organization
that wishes to provide financial assistance to families that would otherwise not be able to attend
the city's day camp program due to financial constraints; and
WHEREAS, there are families in need of this financial assistance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLO\VS:
Section 1. Approval of Acceptance. The City Commission hereby approves the acceptance
of the donation from Concemed Citizen's of Northeast Dade County in an amount of $600.00
(Six Hundred Dollars) to pay for the summer camp fees of families in need of financial
assistance.
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

Approval of Purchase of Uniforms and Related Items for Police Department
At its regular meeting of June 15, 2006, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2006-
928, which approved the purchase of uniforms and related items for the Police Department from
Golden Nugget DIBI A Argo Uniform. Attached is a copy of the approving resolution to assist
you with processing this item.

Subject: Resolution Allowing the Police Department Use of a Specific Vendor to Purchase
Uniforms and Uniform Related Items from the Approved Budget
Recommendation:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the expenditure of budgeted funds in the
amount up to $24,000. (twenty four thousand dollars) to Gold Nugget dba Argo Uniform Company
for the purchase of new and replacement uniforms for all uniformed employees of the Police
Department.
Reasons:
The need to centralize and upgrade the quality of the uniform purchased by officers and civilians
representing the Police Department, has necessitated that we utilize a vendor who has a local facility
and stocks uniforms in quantity to serve the department's needs.
Additional Information:
Gold Nugget dba Argo Uniform Company's pricing is lower than other companies which bid for
servIces.
Gold Nugget dba Argo Uniform Company employs and utilizes 12 seamstress personnel to do
alterations and stitching of uniforms add-ons as opposed to 2 as employed and utilized by other
companies, which bid for service, thus saving time and enhancing service.
Gold Nugget dba Argo Uniform Company is the only local company which will stock recommended
uniforms style and quality, thus saving time and enhancing service, Gold Nugget dba Argo Uniform
Company is aIso the closest company, thus saving man-hours in ordering and pick-up of uniforms.
Gold Nugget dba Argo Uniform Company is the only local company which makes motorcycle
britches.
This is a renewal of our arrangement with this vendor who has satisfactoriIy met our needs.

REC01v1MENDATION:
It is recommended that the Gty Commission adopt the attached resolution to approve the
acceptance of a donation in the amount of Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) from Concerned Gtizen's
of Nonheast Dade County to sponsor summer day camp panicipants.
REASONS:
Our summer camp is a fee for service program Concerned Gtizen's of Nonheast Dade County is a
non-profit organization that wishes to provide financial assistance to families that would otherwise
not be able to attend the city's day camp program due to financial limitations.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
By accepting this donation and applying it to the approved scholarships, 2 children will be afforded
the opponunity to attend our summer camp program.
