A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO UTILIZE TIP
TOP DRY CLEANERS FOR DRY CLEANING SERVICES
FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS
($15,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department is in need of dry cleaning
services for its Police uniforms, to maintain the appearance and image of the Police Department;
and
WHEREAS, Tip Top Dry Cleaners, Inc. is the Police Department's current vendor and
the most responsive responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is extremely satisfied with the service provided by
Tip Top Dry Cleaners; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police is requesting authorization utilize Tip Top Dry Cleaners,
Inc. for dry cleaning services for the Police Department, in an amount not to exceed $15,000.00
from budgeted funds.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorization of Chief of Police. The City Commission hereby authorizes the
Chief of Police to utilize Tip Top Dry Cleaners for dry cleaning services for the Police
Department, in a total amount not to exceed Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00).
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of the Agreement.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on this 15th day of June, 2006.

Approval of Use of Tip Top Dry Cleaners
At its regular meeting of June 15, 2006, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2006-
929, which authorized the use of Tip Top Dry Cleaners for dry cleaning services for the Police
Department. Attached is a copy of the approving resolution to assist you with processing this
item.

Subject: Resolution Allowing the Police Department Use of a Specific Uniform Dry deaning
Vendor/Service Supplier from the Approved Budget.
Recommendation:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the expenditure of budgeted funds in the
amount up to $ 15,000,00 (fifteen thousand dollars) to Tip Top Dry Cleaners Inc. for the dry cleaning
of uniforms for police personnel required to wear uniforms.
Reasons:
It is necessary to dry clean our police uniforms in order to maintain the quality appearance and image
of the Police Department. Dry cleaning maintains the material quality of the uniforms for an
extended period of time, thus saving on replacement costs. This is a regular expense of the
Department for which we anticipate exceeding $10,000.00 on an annual basis. Therefore, in
accordance with our procurement policies we are seeking Commission approval.
Additional Information:
Of the quotes received from vendors including our current vendor, Tip Top Dry Cleaners is our
choice due to a variety ofreasons. Prices are comparabIe, pick up and delivery will be facilitated,
and this is a renewal of our arrangement with this vendor who has satisfactorily met our needs.
