A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING
THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION FROM THE
SUNNY ISLES BEACH RESORT ASSOCIATION, IN THE
AMOUNT OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00), TO
HELP PAY FOR THE FIREWORKS DISPLAY AT THE
CITY'S 9TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of SUill1Y Isles Beach desires to have a fireworks display at the
City's 9th Anniversary event on Saturday, June 17,2006; and
WHEREAS, the City entered into an agreement with Zambelli Fireworks International
for the provision of said fireworks display, in an amount not to exceed Twenty-Eight Thousand
Five Hundred Dollars ($28,500.00); and
WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Resort Association has an interest in events of the
City, as they benefit residents and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Resort Association has graciously offered to donate
Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) to help pay for the fireworks works display.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The recitals contained 111 this resolution are
incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. Approval of Acceptance. The City Commission hereby approves the acceptance
of a donation from the Sunny Isles Beach Resort Association, in the amount of Five Thousand
Dollars ($5,000.00), to help pay for the costs of the fireworks presentation at the City's 9th
Anniversary event.
Section 3. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 4.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

Approval of Acceptance of Donation from Sunny Isles Beach Resort Association
At its regular meeting of June 15, 2006, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2006-
934, which approved the acceptance of a donation from the Sunny Isles Beach Resort
Association. Attached is a copy of the approving resolution to assist you with processing this
item.

Approval of Acceptance of Donation from Sunny Isles Beach Resort
Association
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution approving the
acceptance of a donation from the Sunny Isles Beach Resort Association to partially sponsor the
fireworks display at the City's 9th Anniversary celebration.
REASONS:
The City Commission has expressed its desire to provide a fireworks display at the City's 9th
Anniversary celebration for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. The Sunny Isles Beach
Resort Association has an interest in events that the City offers, as they benefit residents and
visitors. As such, they would like to make a donation in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars
($5,000.00) to help fund the fireworks display.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
On May 18, 2006 the City entered into an agreement with Zambelli Fireworks International for
the provision of a fireworks display on June 17, 2006, at the City's 9th Anniversary celebration.
The donation from the Sunny Isles Beach Resort Association will help defray the cost of the
display.
