A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING
THE NAMING OF THE BEACH ACCESS LOCATED AT
192ND STREET AND COLLINS AVENUE THE "WILLIAM
"BILL" LONE BEACH ACCESS" IN HONOR AND
APPRECIATION OF HIS DEDICATION TO THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH; DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER AND/OR HIS/HER DESIGNEE TO PLACE
SIGNAGE COMMENSURATE WITH THIS DISTINCTION
AT SAID BEACH ACCESS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, William "Bill" Lone, was founder and President of the Sunny Isles Beach
Resort Association, marketing the City on behalf of the Resort community to make the name
Smmy Isles Beach recognizable around the world; and
WHEREAS, William "Bill" Lone worked closely with the City in the early years sitting
on the Citizen's Plmming Advisory Committee, the Fashion, Film, Entertainment & Production
Committee, and serving as Chairperson on the Tourism and Development Committee; and
WHEREAS, he has been an active and outstanding member of the City of Sunny Isles
Beach business community; and
WHEREAS, through his relentless efforts, he has brought notability to the Sunny Isles
Beach community, donating his time, expertise and monies for the betterment of Sunny Isles
Beach and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, William "Bill" Lone has recently passed away, this Commission would like
to honor him for his dedication to this City by naming the beach access located at 1921ld Street
and Collins A venue as "William "Bill" Lone Beach Access".
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Naming of Beach Access. The City Commission hereby designates the beach
access located at 1921ld Street and Collins Avenue the 'William "Bill" Lone Beach Access' in
honor and appreciation of Bill Lone's dedication to the enhancement of life in the City of Sunny
Isles Beach.
Section 2. Directive to City Manager. The City Commission hereby directs the City
Manager and/or his/her designee to place signage commensurate with this distinction at said
beach access.

Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 20th day of July, 2006.

At its regular meeting of July 20, 2006, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2006-946,
which designated the beach access located at I92nd Street and Collins A venue the "William 'Bill'
Lone Beach Access." Attached is a copy of the approving resolution to assist you in processing
this item.
