A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, QUALIFYING AND
RANKING THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL FIRMS TO
PERFORM LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES TO THE
CITY IN RESPONSE TO RFQ NO. 06-03-01 LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECTURAL FIRMS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AGREEMENTS WITH SAID
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT FIRMS, IN THE BEST INTERESTS
OF THE CITY; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City is desirous of securing several landscape architectural firms to
provide landscape architectural services to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City issued and advertised Request for Qualifications No. 06-03-01
Landscape Architectural Firms, for which six (6) responses were received; and
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed all of the bid responses and heard presentations from
several of the prospective landscape architectural firms; and
WHEREAS, after due consideration and evaluation, staff recommends the City
Commission qualify and rank the landscape architectural finns to perform landscape architectural
services for the City as follows: l) O'Leary Richards Design Associates, Inc.; 2) EDA W, Inc.;
and, 3) Calvin Giordano and Associates, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to accept the recommendation of staff and to
authorize the City Manager to negotiate agreements with said qualified and ranked landscape
architectural firms, in the best interests of the City, for the provision of landscape architectural
services; and
WHEREAS, it is understood that any agreements that exceed $10,000, individually or
cumulatively (within a fiscal year), will be brought to the City Commission for consideration, in
accordance with the City's procurement procedures.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Qualifying and Ranking of Landscape Architects. The City Commission hereby
qualifies and ranks the landscape architectural firms to perform landscape architectural services
for the City in response to Request for Qualifications No. 06-03-01, as follows:

Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
negotiate agreements, in the best interests of the City, for the provision oflandscape architectural
services with said qualified and ranked landscape architectural firms and to do all things
necessary to effectuate the Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.

Resolution Qualifying and Ranking Landscape Architects for RFQ 06-03-01
At its regular meeting of July 20, 2006, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2006-948,
which qualified and ranked landscape architects in response to Request for Qualification No. 06-
03-01. Attached is a copy of the approving resolution to assist you in processing this item.
