A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING A SERVICE
AGREEMENT WITH OTIS ELEVATOR COMPANY FOR THE
MAINTENANCE OF THREE (3) CITY HYDRAULIC
ELEVATORS LOCATED AT THE SUNNY ISLES BEACH
GOVERNMENT CENTER, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
FORTY-TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($42,000.00), ATTACHED
HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City requires a dependable contractor to provide consistent
maintenance services for the three (3) hydraulic elevators located at the Sunny Isles Beach
Govemment Center; and
WHEREAS, Otis Elevator Company has been providing elevator maintenance services
for the City since February 1,2006 based upon a proposal executed with the City dated January
9,2006; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to retain the Otis Elevator Company for a period of five (5)
years to provide maintenance services for the three elevators located at the Sunny Isles Beach
Government Center, as described in the Service Agreement, which is attached hereto and referred
to as Exhibit "A".
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ratification of Agreement. The five-year Service Agreement with Otis Elevator
Company for the maintenance of three elevators located at the Sunny Isles Beach Government
Center, in a total amount not to exceed Forty-two Thousand Dollars ($42,000.00), attached
hereto as Exhibit "A", is hereby ratified.
Section 2. Authorization of Citv Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of the Agreement.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.

Resolution Approving an Agreement with Otis Elevator Company for the
Maintenance of Three (3) City Hydraulic Elevators located at the Sunny Isles
Beach Government Center
RECOMMENDATION:
It is requested that the City Commission adopt the Resolution.
REASONS:
The Sunny Isles Beach Government Center has three (3) elevators that need to be serviced
periodically to keep them in good running condition. Otis Elevator Company was the Contractor
that installed the elevators when Government Center was constructed. Otis Elevator Company
submitted a proposal for a maintenance fee of $8,400.00 annually with a companion five-year
agreement, for a total amount not to exceed $42,000.00.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Funding for this project is available in the Public Works Account No.1 0.539.
