A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, REPEALING
RESOLUTION NO. 2006-931, AUTHORIZING THE
PAINTING OF THE CITY'S THREE (3) EXISTING
SHUTTLE BUSES BY ATLANTIC BUS SALESj
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL
THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF
THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, on June 15,2006, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2006-931,
which authorized the City's three (3) existing shuttle buses be painted light blue by Atlantic Bus
Sales in an effort to maintain a uniform look for the fleet; and
WHEREAS, the new base color of light blue was close to the color of the existing buses;
and
WHEREAS, in the City's best interest, it was determined to cancel the order with
Atlantic Bus Sales, therefore repealing Resolution No. 2006-931.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Repealing Resolution No. 2006-931. The City Commission hereby repeals
Resolution No. 2006-931 which authorized the painting of the City's three (3) existing shuttle
buses, by Atlantic Bus Sales.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of September 2006.

Rescinding of Authority/Directive to Paint Shuttle Buses
At its regular meeting of September 21, 2006, the City Commission adopted Resolution No.
2006-984, which rescinded the authority to paint three (3) City shuttle buses, thus repealing
Resolution No. 2006-931. Attached is a copy of the resolution for your files.

RE: RATIFICATION OF CITY MANAGER'S DECISION TO NOT PAINT
THREE SHUTTLE BUSES
Because it's pretty difficult to discern the color difference of the old versus new shuttle buses, I
instructed Cultural & Human Services Director Susan Simpson to cancel the painting of our
three older shuttle buses. This action resulted in a savings of roughly $24,900.00.
It is thus recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution ratifying this
action.
