RESOLUTION NO. 2006-TIZ.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE ACCEPTANCE OF
A DONATION IN AN AMOUNT OF TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS
($2,000.00) FROM LUKES' LANDSCAPING, INC. TO PARTIALLY
SPONSOR THE CITY'S SUNNY SERENADE ON SEPTEMBER 20, 2006;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach provides various events for its citizens
including the Sunny Serenade; and
WHEREAS, Lukes' Landscaping, Inc. wished to donate Two Thousand Dollars
($2,000.00) for the September 20, 2006 Sunny Serenade to partially sponsor the event in lieu of
advertising that names them as a sponsor of this event; and
WHEREAS, the September 20, 2006 Sunny Serenade was a special event that featured
the dedication of the City's new sculpture, Rising Horizons, allowing the citizens to enjoy the
Town Center Park's amenities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:

Section [H -R.!iillYlng the Acceptance of Donation. The City Commission hereby ratifies the
acceptance of the donation from Lukes' Landscaping, Inc., in an amount of Two Thousand
Dollars ($2,000,00) that partially sponsored the September 20, 2006 Surmy Serenade held at the
Town Center Park.
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3,
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21 st day of September 2006.

Approval of Donation from Lukes' Landscaping, Inc.
At its regular meeting of September 21, 2006, the City Commission adopted Resolution No.
2006-972, which ratified the acceptance of a $2,000 donation from Lukes' Landscaping.
Attached is a copy of the approving resolution to assist you in processing this item.

APPROVAL OF ACCEPTANCE OF DONATION FOR SPONSORSHIP
FROM LUKE'S LANDSCAPING
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Gty Commission adopt the attached resolution to approve the
acceptance of a donation in the amount of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) from Luke's
Landscaping to partially sponsor the city's Sunny Serenade on Wednesday, September 20, 2006.
REASON:
Luke's Landscaping has an interest in the events that the city offers and would like to make this
donation for the benefit of the entire community. The September Sunny Serenade is a special event
that featured the dedication of the new statue, Rising Horizon's. Luke's Landscaping offered a
donation of $2,000.00 to sponsor the event in lieu of advertising that names them as a sponsor of
this event.
