A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING
THE NAMING OF THE BEACH ACCESS LOCATED AT
189 STREET AND COLLINS AVENUE THE "CECILE
SIPPIN BEACH ACCESS" IN HONOR AND
APPRECIATION OF HER DEDICATION TO THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH; DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER AND/OR HIS/HER DESIGNEE TO PLACE
SIGNAGE COMMENSURATE WITH THIS DISTINCTION
AT SAID BEACH ACCESS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Cecile Sippin has been an active and outstanding member of the City of
Sunny Isles Beach community; and
WHEREAS, Cecile Sippin has served on many City Committees including the Citizens'
Plarming Advisory Committee, and as Chairperson of the Traffic and Safety Committee of the
Mayor's Advisory Council; and
WHEREAS, through her relentless efforts, has donated her time and expertise for the
betterment of Sunny Isles Beach and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, Cecile Sippin has recently moved away, this Commission would like to
honor her for her dedication to this City by naming the beach access located at 189 Street and
Collins Avenue as "Cecile Sippin Beach Access".
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1, Naming of Beach Access. The City Commission hereby designates the beach
access located at 189 Street and Collins A venue the "Cecile Sippin Beach Access" in honor and
appreciation of Cecile Sippin's dedication to the enhancement of life in the City of Sunny Isles
Beach.
Section 2. Directive to City Manager. The City Commission hereby directs the City
Manager and/or hislher designee to place signage commensurate with this distinction at said
beach access.
Section 3. Authorization of Citv Manager, The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
Section 4.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

Approval of "Cecille Sippin Beach Access" Designation
At its regular meeting of September 21, 2006, the City Commission adopted Resolution No.
2006-978, which designated the beach access located at 189th Street and Collins Avenue the
"Cecille Sippin Beach Access." Attached is a copy of the approving resolution to assist you in
processing this item.

APPROVAL OF NAME AND LOCATION OF BEAGI ACCESS
DEDICATION SIGN
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Gty Commission adopt the attached resolution approving the name and
location of a beach access dedication sign.
REASONS:
At the June 15, 2006 Commission meeting, it was established that the City Commission wished to
dedicate certain beach accesses. It is proposed by Vice Mayor Roslyn Brezin, and before you now
for your approval, to name the beach access located at 189 Street and Collins Avenue in honor of
Cecile Sippin.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This dedication is in honor of Cecile's service to the city by serving on many City Committees
including the Gtizen's Planning Advisory Committee and as Chairperson of the Traffic and Safety
Committee of the Mayor's Advisory Council.
