Home My WebLink AboutReso 2007-1031 RESOLUTION NO. 2007-~J A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF EIGHT (8) VEHICLES AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED SEVENTY-SIX DOLLARS ($235,776.00), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Policc Department rotates a portion of the Police fleet annually to assure the safety and reliability of its equipment to its officers; and WHEREAS, the Police Department now needs to purchase eight (8) vehicles from Duval Ford under the Florida Sheriffs Association, Florida Association of Counties & Florida Fire Chiefs' Association's Contract Bid No. 06-14-0821, and associated equipment which will be purchased from various vendors as a result of a competitive bid process, in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Thirty-five Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy-Six Dollars ($235,776,00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, staff determined that the above charges were reasonable and customary for said purchase and recommends that the Commission approve the purchase; and WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $235,776,00 is available in the budgeted account under General Fund, Capital Expenditures, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section I. Authorizing the Purchase of Vehicles and Equipment. The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase of eight (8) vehicles and their associated equipment in an amount not to exceed $235,776,00, as outlined in Exhibit "A", attached hereto, Section 2, Authorization of City Manager.
