A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,; APPROVING THE UNIFORM
SIGN PLAN SUBMITTED BY, PLAZA ISLES, L.L.C., FOR THE
SHOPI'ING PLAZA LOCATED AT 16200 COLLINS AVENUE,
SUITE 16204-16229, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A";
PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER WITH THE AUTHORITY
TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE
TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on February 16,2006, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 2006-
244, amending Article IX of the Land Development Regulations of the City of Sunny Isles Beach
relating to Sign Regulations; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2006-244 (commonly known as the Sign Code) established a
requirement for multi-tenant shopping centers to submit a uniform sign plan for the approval of
the City Commission; and
WHEREAS, under the Sign Code, all signs in multi-tenant plazas must be uniformed in
terms of illumination, material, fabrication, sign area, and terms of color; and
WHEREAS, Plaza Isles, L.L.C., has submitted a uniform sign plan for shopping plazas
located at 16200 Collins Avenue, Suite 16204, 16210, 16218, 16224, 16228, 16229, attached
hereto as Exhibit "A", for City Commission approval; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning staff has reviewed the plans submitted and finds
that the plans are in compliance with the Sign Code, specifically Section 265-580).
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. Approval of Uniform Sign Plan. The Uniform Sign Plan submitted by, Plaza
Isles, L.L.c., has submitted a uniform sign plan for the shopping plaza located at 16200 Collins
Avenue, Suite 16204 thru 16229, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", be, and the same, is hereby
approved.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

RECOMMENDATION
This Resolution is presented for your consideration and approval.
REASONS
Pursuant to Ordinance No. 2006-244 (commonly known as the Sign Code), adopted on February 16,
2006, multi-tenant shopping centers are required to submit a uniform sign plan for the approval of the
City Commission. Under the Sign Code, all signs in multi-tenant plazas must be uniformed in terms of
illumination, material, fabrication and sign area. Additionally, the signs must be uniformed in terms of
color. Plaza Isles, L.L.C., ("Applicant") has submitted the attached uniform sign plan for the following
shopping plaza:
16200 Collins Avenue - Plaza Isles. L.L.C.
(1) Suite 16204
(2) Suite 16210
(3) Suite 16218
(4) Suite 16224
(5) Suite 16228
(6) Suite 16229
Staff has reviewed the plans submitted and finds that the plans are in compliance with the Sign Code.
Specifically, the plans are in compliance with requirements section 265-58(1) of the City Code. Approval
by the City Commission is required when the sign plan is in compliance with the Code. Currently the
existing individual signs in this shopping center will remain, since the signs are complying with the Code.

Approval of Uniform Sign Plans
At its regular meeting of January 18,2007, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2007-
1034, which approved a uniform sign plan for Millenium Plaza, 18660 Collins Avenue and
Resolution No. 2007-1035, which approved a uniform sign plan for the shopping plaza located
at 16200 Collins Avenue, Suites 16204, 16210, 16218, 16224, 16228, and 16229.
Attached is a copy of the approving resolution to assist you in processing these items.
