RESOLUTION NO, 2007- f OY2
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE NAMING OF THE
.PARK AT 17200 COLLINS AVENUE AS "TOWN CENTER PARK";
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission created a Town Center Overlay District via
Ordinance No. 2001- I 44 to promote the development of propcrties within the area designated in
the City's Comprehensivc Master Plan as the Town Center in a manner consistent with the vision
set forth in the Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, on June 3, 2004 via Resolution No. 2004-681 the City Commission
accepted the conveyance of approximately 3.46 acres of real property (Casino Property), located
at 17200 Collins A venue for a public park for the enjoyment of its residents and visitors to the
City of Sunny Islcs Beach; and
WHEREAS, the grand opening ceremony of the Park occurred on October 20, 2005 and
the City Commission now wishes to formally name the City Park as 'Town Center Park".
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. Naming of City Park. The City Commission hereby declares that the Park
at 17200 Collins Avenue be named as "Town Center Park".
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
do all things necessary to effcctuate the terms of this resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of January 2007.
