the streets.

another 6 games.

all of the teams and is in need of financial assistance, particularly
as to this expenditure.
o Little League Charter Fees

The League is requesting $2,500.00 to address the equipment expenditure as
well as general cost increases.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Gty Commission adopt the attached Resolution to commit to partner
with the North Miami Beach Little League baseball program by donating $2,500.00 (Two Thousand
Five Hundred Dollars) from the general fund.
REASONS
North Miami Beach Little League provides a quality baseball program to all residents in the
Northeast Miami-Dade area including Sunny Isles Beach as well as Golden Beach, Aventura, and
North Miami Beach.
They are a not-far-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation that relies on donations, sponsorships, and
fundraising events to help cover the expenses of league fees, uniforms, equipment, coaches, and
referees. This program serves the positive goal of teaching kids lifetime values of sportsmanship,
teamwork, and dedication. They follow the guidelines set by Little League Baseball's national
organization. With our partnership, we assist in providing the opportunity for a baseball program to
the youth of Sunny Isles Beach. Donations such as these allow the league to keep registration fees
low to encourage participation by all regardless of economic status. Scholarships are provided for
children of families with economic hardships.
