FOR THE PELICAN PARK COMMUNITY CENTER, UNDER STATE OF FLORIDA GOVFRNMFNT rONTRACT NO. AH7375, IN AN AMOUNT OF SEVENTY-SIX THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTY DOLLARS AND EIGHTY-EIGHT CENTS ($76,570,88), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE, WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is purchasing office furniture; and WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach wishes to purchase furniture from Herman Miller Corporate Design Choice, Inc, pursuant to State Contract No. AH7375, in order to furnish the areas of the Pelican Park Community Center, and WHEREAS, Herman Miller Corporate Design Choice, Inc. provided a quote under the State of Florida Government Contract No. AH7375, for the purchase of office furniture for the Pelican Park Community Center in the amount of Seventy-Six Thousand Five Hundred Seventy Dollars and Eighty-Eight Cents ($76,570.88), including delivery and installation, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", with delivery expected July, 2007. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section I. ApDroval of the Commission. The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase of office furniture from Herman Miller Corporate Design Choice, Inc. in the amount of Seventy-Six Thousand Five Hundred Seventy Dollars and Eighty-Eight Cents ($76,570.88), Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to purchase from Herman Miller Corporate Design Choice, Inc. the office furniture for the proposed Pelican Park Community Center, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", with delivery expected July 2007, and to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Vera, Assistant City Attoreny Service DiViSiC--r--- February 1, 2007 ..J Furniture contract for proposed community center at Pelican Park RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Conunission adopt the attached resolution authorizing the purchase of office furniture and filing systems for the proposed community center at Pelican Park REASONS Herman Miller Workplace Corporate Design Choice have provided a quote under the State of Florida Government Contract for the purchase of office furniture and filing systems for the proposed community center at Pelican Park. The City is piggy-backing off from a State contract in order to take advantage of the discount on the furniture, which averages about 55% of the cost of the futniture. The City purchase furniture under this contract for the City Hall when it was being constructed. Expected delivery of the furniture will be July 2007. Fund for this purchase come from Capital Projects account #20-600-5611.
