A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE
OF FOURTEEN (14) ROUND-TRIP AIRLINE TICKETS FROM
KAPLAN TOURS OF NETANYA, FOR THE HAVAZALOT-
NETANYA DANCE TROUPE OF NETANYA, ISRAEL TO
PERFORM AT THE CITY'S 10TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION,
IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FOURTEEN THOUSAND
THREE HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS ($14,360.00), ATTACHED
HERETO AS EXmBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS
OFTHIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FORAN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach will be celebrating its I O'h Anniversary on June
16,2007, and is desirous of including the Havazalot-Netanya Dance Troupe to perform at this most
important City milestone; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission directed the IO'h Year Anniversary Committee to invite
the Havazalot-Netanya Dance Troupe to the City's IO'h Anniversary Celebration, to perform at the
Ramada on Thursday, June 14,2007, and at the lO'h Year Anniversary Party at Samson Oceanfront
Park on Saturday, June 15,2007; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to purchase fourteen (14) round-trip airline
tickets from Kaplan Tours of Net any a, Israel, in the amount of Fourteen Thousand Three Hundred
Sixty Dollars ($14,360.00), as outlined in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, for airfare for twelve (12)
dancers, one (I) choreographer, and one (I) city official in charge of culture in Netanya, for the
City's lO'h Anniversary Celebration.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF TI-IE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. Approval of Purchase. The City Commission hereby approves the purchase offourteen
(14) round-trip airline tickets from Kaplan Tours of Net any a, in the amount not to exceed Fourteen
Thousand Three Hundred Sixty Dollars ($14,360.00), as outlined in Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
Section 2. Authorization of Citv Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of March, 2007.

Airline Tickets Purchase Approval
At its regular meeting of March 15,2007, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2007-
1068, which approved the purchase of airline tickets from Kaplan Tours of Netanya for the
Havazalot-Netanya Dance Troupe. Attached is a copy of the approving resolution to assist you
in processing this item.

Purchase of Airfare for Havazalot-Netanya Dancers of Net any a, Israel
RESOLUTION
The attached resolution approves the purchase of airfare for the dance troupe from Tel Aviv, Israel to
Fort Lauderdale, FL to perform at the City's 10th Year Anniversary Celebration. They will be
bringing twelve (12) dancers, one (1) choreographer, and one (1) city official in charge of culture in
Netanya. The total cost of round-trip tickets for the group is:
TOTAL $14,360 USD
BACKGROUND
The City Commission directed the 10th Year Anniversary Committee to include the Havazalot-
Netanya dance troupe in the City's 10th Year Celebration events and to take care of their travel costs.
There are plans for Havazalot-Netanya to perform at the Ramada for an audience of 250 on
Thursday, June 14, 2007; and at the 10th Year Anniversary Party at Samson Oceanfront Park for
more than 2,000 on Saturday, June 15,2007.
Members of the group have to apply for visas and arrange an interview with the American Consul
showing they have round-trip tickets.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Funding for the airfare is available in the 2006-2007 Administrative Services Department budget,
line item 519-10-5471.
