A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING
THE ACCEPTANCE OF DONATIONS IN A TOTAL
AMOUNT OF SIXTY-EIGHT THOUSAND THREE
HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($68,350.00) FROM V AIUOUS
ORGANIZATIONS TO PARTIALLY SPONSOR THE
CITY'S 10TII ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, JUNE 14 -
16, 2007; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENTS;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
ADDITIONAL SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENTS AND
ACCEPT DONATIONS THAT ARE OFFERED AFTER
THIS DATE; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THlNGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to celebrate the City's 10th
anniversary with several events culminating with an estimated attendance of 4,000 people on
Saturday, June 16, 2007; and
WHEREAS, to enhance the activities planned to celebrate the City's 10th Anniversary,
City Staff offered sponsorship opportunities to organizations in and around Sunny Isles Beach;
and
WHEREAS, twenty-two (22) agreements, listing attached as Exhibit "A", valued at
Sixty-Eight Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($68,350.00) for both in-kind services and
monetary donations have been received to date which will help defray the costs of providing a
series of events for the community while recognizing the organizations that support this
community; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission authorizes the City Manager to enter into additional
sponsorship agreements and to accept donations that are offered after this date for the City's 10th
Anniversary Celebration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. Approval of Acceptance. The City Commission hereby approves the acceptance
of donations from various organizations to partially sponsor the City's loth Anniversary
Celebration, in the amount of Sixty-Eight Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($68,350.00),
listing attached as Exhibit "A".
Section 2. Authoritv of Citv Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into
additional sponsorship agreements and accept donations that are offered after this date.

Approval of Acceptance of 10th Anniversary Celebration Donations
At its reg~lar meeting of April 19, 2007, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2007-
1072, which approved the acceptance of certain donations for the City's 10th Anniversary
Celebration. Attached is acopy of the approving legislation to assist you in processing this item.

APPROVAL OF SPONSORSHIP / DONATION AGREEMENTS FOR THE
CI1Y'S lOTI-I ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
RECOMMENDA TION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution to approve the
acceptance of sponsorships and donations from various organizations to partially sponsor the City's
10th Anniversary Celebration in the amount of Si.xty Eight Thousand, Three Hundred Fifty Dollars
($68,350.00) and authorize the City Manager to enter into sponsorship agreements with each.
REASONS:
In an effort to enhance the activities planned to celebrate the City's 10th Anniversary, by direction of
the City Commission, City staff offered sponsorship opportunities to organizations in and around
Sunny Isles Beach. Twenty two agreements valued at Sixty Eight Thousand, Three Hundred Fifty
Dollars ($68,350.00) for both in-kind and monetary donations have been received.
These donations will be used to help defray the costs of providing a series of events for the
community while recognizing the organizations that support this community.
ADDITIONAL IN FORlYIA TION:
This resolution gives the City Manager the authority to enter into additional sponsorship agreements
and accept donations that are offered after this date.
