RESOLUTION NO. 2007- 107 S
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHOIUZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXPEND AN AMOUNT NOT
GREATER THAN SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($60,000.00)
TO LANDSCAPE THE FRONT ENTRANCE TO THE SUNNY
ISLES BEACH GOVERNMENT CENTER; FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has expressed its desire to beautify the Sunny Isles Beach
Government Center entranceway; and
WHEREAS, on March 15,2007, the City Commission authorized the City Manager via
Resolution No. 2007-1065, to come up with plantings for the area, using his discretion and the
previous input and discussions of the City Commission.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorization of Citv Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to expend an
amount not greater than Sixty Thousand Dollars ($60,000.00) to landscape the front entrance to the
Sunny Isles Beach Government Center.
Section 2. FUtiher Authorization of Citv Manager. Further, the City Manager is hereby
authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effcctive upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of April 2007.

Landscape Design Plan for Government Center
At its regular meeting of April 19, 2007, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2007-
1075, which authorized the City Manager to expend up to $60,000 to landscape the front
entrance to the Government Center. Attached is a copy of the approving resolution to assist you
in processing this item.

RE: Landscape Installation for Front Entrance to Sunny Isles Beach Government
Center
At the March Commission Meeting I was instructed to install landscape material in the above
referenced area in such a manner as to make it look much better than it does now. To
accommodate this objective, I'm requesting permission to expend up to $60,000 for the
following general scope of work:
>- Removal of all sea grass, and kapok tree.
>- Irrigation enhancement.
>- Berm construction.
>- Installation of plants and shrubs that will provide the most color in a functional manner
Please know that I'm going for an informal appearance as opposed to a highly structured one
(like what we have in our medians).
Project will be completed sometime this Spring. Funding is available in account #20-600-5645
