John Szerlag, CiTy Manager Hans Ottinot, CiTy Aflomey Jane A. Hines, City Clerk MEMORANDUM The Honorable Mayor and City Commission A. John Szerlag, City Manager Jorge L. Vera, Assistant City Manager/ Service Division April 13, 2007 Receptacles for proposed community center at Pelican Park RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing a change order to Siltek Group contract for the Pelican Park. REASONS The City has requested from Siltek Group a change order for the installation of additional electrical and computer receptacles in the proposed community center located in the Pelican Park. These receptacles were never part of the original approved plans and after discussion with the Culture and Human Service and IT Directors, we agreed that the additional outlets are needed for the types of programs that will be taking place in the community center. The cost for these new receptacles will not exceed $25,0000. The majority of the receptacles will be floor outlets in the second floor of the building, thereby increasing the cost. This resolution is just a formality to inform the City commission of changes to the original approved plans. The additional cost for the receptacles will be taken from the contingency of $600.000 dollars that was approved in the contract with Siltek Group. This change order will not increase the approved contract sum with Siltek Group. Agenda Item J 0 X Date ~ - J 9 - () 7
