A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A CHARITABLE
CONTRIBUTION TO THE A VENTURA MARKETING COUNCIL, IN
AN AMOUNT OF UP TO FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00), TO
SPONSOR THE JUNE 19, 2007 BREAKFAST MEETING;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION;
I}ROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the A ventura Marketing Council was created in 1988 to carve out a niche
for Aventura and its neighboring communities; and
WHEREAS, the Aventura Marketing Council is recognized as one of the most
successful and progressive organizations in South Florida; and
WHEREAS, the A ventura Marketing Council holds monthly Breakfast Meetings,
featuring distinguished guest speakers who discuss current issues in the news and other topics of
interest; and
WHEREAS, the Aventura Marketing Council has announced that Mr. Seth Bramson, the
author of "From Sandbar to Sophistication: The Story of Sunny Isles Beach," will be the guest
speaker at the Breakfast Meeting scheduled for June 19,2007; and
WHEREAS, the A ventura Marketing Council has offered the City the opportunity to
sponsor the June Breakfast Meeting, as it will focus on the City of Sunny Isles Beach; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to sponsor the June 2007 Breakfast Meeting and to make a
charitable contribution, in an amount of up to Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), to the
Aventura Marketing Council,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. Approval of Contribution. The City Commission hereby approves a charitable
contribution to the A ventura Marketing Council, in an amount of up to Five Thousand Dollars
($5,000.00), to sponsor the June 19,2007 Breakfast Meeting.
Section 2. Authorization of Citv Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of May 2007.

Approval of Charitable Contribution to Aventura Marketing Council
At its regular meeting of May 17, 2007, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2007-
1104, which approved a charitable donation to the Aventura Marketing Council, in an amount of
up to Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), to sponsor the June 2007 Breakfast Meeting. Attached
is a copy of the approving resolution to assist you in processing this item.

Sponsorship of the Aventura Marketing Council June 19th Meeting
I received a call from Elaine Adler asking if the City would sponsor the June 19, Aventura
Marketing Council Breakfast meeting. At this meeting, Seth Bramson, Author of "From Sandbar to
Sophistication; The Story of Sunny Isles Beach," will be discussing the book.

The cost to sponsor this event is approximately $4,000.00-$5,000.00, Please let me know your
thoughts.
