A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ACCEPTANCE
OF A DONATION OF A BABY GRAND PIANO FROM MARY LEE OF
CHRISTINE LEE'S RESTAURANT FOR THE NEW PELICAN PARK
COMMUNITY CENTER IN HONOR OF AND IN HER MOTHER'S
NAME CHRISTINE LEE; AUTHOIUZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Christine Lee's Restaurant has been serving Chinese and continental
cuisine in Sunny Isles Beach for 37 years and has now closed; and
WHEREAS, Mary Lee of Christine Lee's Restaurant wishes to donate a Baby Grand
Piano from the Restaurant for the new Pelican Park Community Center in honor of and in her
mother's name Christine Lee; and
WHEREAS, the City is grateful for this tremendous gift for the children and residents of
Sunny Isles Beach to enjoy for many years to come at the new Pelican Park Community Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Acceptance. The City Commission hereby approves the acceptance
of the donation of a Baby Grand Piano from Mary Lee of Christine Lee's Restaurant for the new
Pelican Park Community Center in honor of and in her mother's name Christine Lee.
Section 2. Authoritv of Citv Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21 st day of June 2007.

Acceptance of Donation of Baby Grand Piano from Christine Lee's Restaurant
At its regular meeting of June 21, 2007, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2007-
1107, which approved the acceptance of a donation of a baby grand piano from Christine Lee's
Restaurant. Attached is a copy of the approving resolution to assist you in processing this item.

Approval to accept a donation of a Baby Grand Piano from Ms. Mary Lee of
Christine Lee's Restaurant.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution to approve the
acceptance of a donation of a Baby Grand Piano for the Pelican Park Community Center.
REASONS:
The New Pelican Park Community Center will be home to many students, children and adults of
all ages who will be able to use said donation for accompaniment during recitals, special events,
performances, and even educational opportunities for students to learn music. This donation
provides multiple use opportunities for all to enjoy. Ms. Mary Lee would like to donate this
exceptional use item in the memory of her mother; Mrs. Christine Lee who served the
community of Sunny Isles Beach for more than 37 years at her restaurant.
