RESOLUTION NO. 2007-~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ACCEPTANCE
OF A DONATION OF A FLAGPOLE FROM FORTUNE
INTERNATIONAL AND CO SCAN CONSTRUCTION FOR THE 163RD
STREET WHARF PROJECT AT THE WEST END OF SUNNY ISLES
BOULEVARD; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL
THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City is currently installing park-like improvements at the 163rd Street
Wharf Project located at the west end of Sunny Isles Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, in honor of the City's 10th Anniversary and its many achievements in the
past 10 years, Fortune International and Coscan Construction wishes to donate a flagpole to the
City valued at $4,000.00, at the 163rd Street Wharf Project; and
WHEREAS, this flagpole will be installed at the completion of the park-like
improvements that they are providing on behalf of the City located at the west end of Sunny Isles
Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, the City is grateful for this gift for its residents and visitors of Sunny Isles
Beach to enjoy as they enter the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. Approval of Acceptance. The City Commission hereby approves the acceptance
of the donation of a flagpole from Fortune International and Coscan Construction at the 163rd
Street Wharf Project located at the west end of Sunny Isles Boulevard.
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of June 2007.

Acceptance of Donation of Flagpole from Fortune International and Co scan
At its regular meeting of June 21, 2007, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2007-
1124, which accepted the donation of a flagpole from Fortune International and Coscan
Construction. Attached is a copy of the approving legislation to assist you in processing this
item.

APPROVAL OF DONATION OF A FLAG POLE TO THE CITY FROM
FORTUNE INTERNATIONAL AND COSCAN CONSTRUCTION
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution to approve the
acceptance of the donation of a flagpole from Fortune International and Coscan Construction
valued at approximately Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00) installed.
REASONS:
In honor of the City's 10th Anniversary and its manyachievements in the past 10 years, Fortune
International and Coscan Construction would like to dedicate a flagpole to the City at the 163rd
Street Wharf project. This flagpole will be installed at the completion of the park like
improvements that they are providing on behalf of the City located at the west end of Sunny Isles
Boulevard.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
In celebration of the City's 10th Anniversary, Fortune and Coscan will display the City's flag,
along with the American flag, from their building. This same flag will be saved and flown on the
pole upon installation.
