A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO.
2006-967 ESTABLISHING A SCHEDULE FOR CITY COMMISSION
MEETINGS FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2007 BY ADDING A REGULAR
CITY COMMISSION MEETING ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 16,2007, AT
7:30 P.M., AND ADDING SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MEETINGS
TENTATIVELY ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2007, AND
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2007, AT 6:30 P.M., FOR FISCAL YEAR
2007/2008 BUDGET HEARINGS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission for the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to revise the
established schedule of City Commission meetings for the remainder of calendar year 2007 by
adding a regular City Commission meeting on Thursday, August 16, 2007, at 7:30 p.m.,
and Special City Commission meetings tentatively on Monday, September 17, 2007, and
Thursday, September 27, 2007, at 6:30 p.m., for Fiscal Year 200712008 budget hearings.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. Revise 2007 Meeting Schedule. The schedule for City Commission meetings for
calendar year 2007 shall be revised as set forth herein:

Approval of Revisions to 2007 City Commission Meeting Calendar
At its regular meeting of July 19, 2007, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2007-
1131, which amended the 2007 City Commission Meeting calendar by adding one meeting in
August and two meetings in September. Attached is a copy of the approving legislation.

Resolution Revising City Commission Meeting 2007 Schedule
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution amending the
schedule of City Commission meetings for the remainder of the year 2007, by adding a regular
City Commission meeting on Thursday, August 16, 2007, and Special City Commission
meetings tentatively on Thursday, September 13, 2007, and Thursday, September 27, 2007,
beginning at 6:30 p.m., for Fiscal Year 2007/2008 Budget Hearings.
REASONS:
At the June 21, 2007 City Commission meeting, the Commission approved going on a full 12-
month schedule of .City Commission meetings including the month of August, beginning this
year, showing our residents that this City is a full-run government and not closed in August.
We also need to schedule Special City Commission meetings for the purpose of establishing a
Millage rate and consideration of adoption of a proposed budget for Fiscal Year 200712008,
which needs to be scheduled around the Miami-Dade County Commission and Miami-Dade
County School Board meeting schedules. Therefore it is requested that the City Commission
schedule a Special City Commission meeting tentatively on Thursday, September 13, 2007, at
6:30 p.m., for the First Budget Hearing; and on Thursday, September 27, 2007, at 6:30 p.m., to
adopt the Final Budget.
