A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, CO-NAMING 178th STREET,
FROM COLLINS AVENUE TO NORTH BAY ROAD, AS "CITY
COMMISSIONER DANNY IGLESIAS STREET", AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXPEND FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT OF
UP TO $600.00, FOR THE INST ALLA TION OF STREET SIGNS
AND TO DO ALL OTHER THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THE INTENT OF THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, City Commissioner Danny Iglesias has served as a public servant for
almost twelve (12) years; and
WHEREAS, historically Commissioner Iglesias is the first member to be termed out in
our City due to term limits, has run unopposed in the last two elections, and he is the last
member of the original City Commission to serve on this Commission; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and fitting that 178th Street, the entranceway to the City
Hall area, be named "City Commissioner Danny Iglesias Street" to honor the contribution that
Commissioner Iglesias has made to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Co-Naming of Street. The City of Sunny Isles Beach formally
approves and requests the approval of Miami-Dade to co-designate 178th Street, from Collins
Avenue to North Bay Road, as "City Commissioner Danny Iglesias Street" in honor of
Commissioner Iglesias.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
disburse funds to Miami-Dade County for the installation of street signs and to do all other things
necessary to effectuate the intent of this resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of November 2007.

Re-Naming of 17Sth Street and Collins Avenue
At its regular meeting of November 15, 2007, the City Commission adopted Resolution No.
2007-1169, which approved the naming of 178th Street and Collins Avenue as "Commissioner
Danny Iglesias Street." Attached is a copy of the approving resolution to assist you in
processing this item.
