RESOLUTION NO. 2008- ~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, NAMING 170 STREET, FROM
COLLINS AVENUE TO THE WEST END OF THE PROPERTY, AS
"RAANAN KATZ BOULEVARD", AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXPEND FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT OF UP TO
$600.00, FOR THE INSTALLATION OF STREET SIGNS AND TO
DO ALL OTHER THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE
INTENT OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission held a Special City Commission Meeting on Friday,
February 8, 2008, regarding Settlement Options for Eminent Domain Case "City of Sunny Isles
Beach vs. 18100 Collins Avenue Shopping Center, Ltd. Et. AI., Case No. 04-12891CA 10"; and
WHEREAS, as part of that settlement, the City Commission approved naming 170
Street, from Collins Avenue to the west end of the property, as "Raanan Katz Boulevard".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Street Naming. The City of Sunny Isles Beach formally approves
and requests the approval of Miami-Dade to name 170 Street, from Collins Avenue to the west
end of the property, as "Raanan Katz Boulevard".
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
disburse funds to Miami-Dade County for the installation of street signs and to do all other things
necessary to effectuate the intent of this resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 20th day of March 2008.

REGARDING:
Approval of a Resolution naming 170th Street as "Raanan Katz
Boulevard"
RECOMMENDATION
We recommend that the City Commission approve the attached Resolution naming 170th Street as
"Raanan Katz Boulevard".
REASONS
The naming of 170th Street is the result of a recent action by the Commission to settle and ongoing
legal matter with Raanan Katz. This Resolution will conform to the County's requirements to
complete the process.

Approval of "Raanan Katz Boulevard"
Dear Mr. Katz:
At its meeting of March 20, 2008, the City Commission approved Resolution No.
2008-1248, which named l70lh Street, from Collins A venue to the west end of the
property, as "Raanan Katz Boulevard". Further, the City Commission requested signage
commemorating this designation be placed at the intersection of said location.
Attached is a copy of the approving legislation for your files.
