A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A FIRST
ADDENDUM TO AGREEMENT WITH GRAPH-PLEX SIGNAGE,
FOR THE PURCHASE AND INST ALLA TION OF SIGN AGE FOR
GOLDEN SHORES, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
EIGHTY-SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($87,000.00),
ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE
MA YOR TO EXECUTE SAID FIRST ADDENDUM TO
AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO
ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF
THE AGREEMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on November 16, 2006 via Resolution No. 2006-1007, the City
Commission approved an agreement with Graph-Plex Signage, in an amount not to exceed Two
Hundred Twenty-Seven Thousand Three Hundred Sixty-Five Dollars ($227,365.00), to fabricate
and install monument signs at various intersections on Collins A venue and City Parks; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is now desirous of obtaining signage for
Golden Shores; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is in need of a contractor to fabricate and
install street signs at various intersections within Golden Shores; and
WHEREAS, Graph-Plex Signage is qualified, willing and able to provide the
desired services; and.
WHEREAS, Graph-Plex Signs has submitted a proposal to the City for the signage in an
amount not to exceed Eighty-Seven Thousand Dollars ($87,000.00), bringing the total contract
amount not to exceed Three Hundred Fourteen Thousand Three Hundred Sixty-Five Dollars
($314,365.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of First Addendum to Agreement. The First Addendum to Agreement
with Graph-Plex Signage for signage for Golden Shores, in a total amount not to exceed Eighty-
Seven Thousand Dollars ($87,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A", be, and the same, is
hereby approved.
Section 2. Authorization of Mayor. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said First
Addendum to Agreement.
Section 3. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of the Agreement.

Section 4.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

FIRST ADDENDUM TO CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH
AND GRAPH-PLEX SIGNAGE AGREEMENT
CONTRACT NO. C0708-043
.",. THIS FIRST ADDENDUM TO GRAPH-PLEX SIGNAGE AGREEMENT, executed
this ~~ay of j-{~ ' 2008, is hereby attached to and is made a part of said Graph-
Plex Signage Contract No. C0607-06 by and between the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") and
Graph-Plex Signage ("Contractor") a busin,1ss corporation licensed in the State of Florida, whose
Federal Identification # is 0\ - 0(.-; 2-[ --Z1~. The City and Contractor hereby agree as follows:
1. ADDITIONAL SCOPE OF WORK: The City wishes to add to the original Graph-Plex
Signage Agreement, by removing all existing street signs and replacing them with custom street signs
in the community of Golden Shores, as more fully described in Attachment "A".
2. COST: The Contractor agrees to charge a total amount not to exceed Eighty-Seven
Thousand One Hundred Ninety-Five Dollars ($87,195.00) for said services.
3. TERM: The term of this First Addendum shall begin upon the execution of this First
Addendum and shall end six (6) months thereof.
4. INCORPORATION OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Except as expressly amended or
modified herein, by this First Amendment to Agreement, all of the terms and conditions of the
original Agreement between the parties dated November 16, 2006, shall remain in full force and
effect in accordance with their terms.

mentioned above.

Golden Shores - Custom Street Signs
GraphPlex to remove all existing street signs in the community of Golden Shores, Replace with
custom street sign units with the following common elements: 4" square aluminum posts, ball
caps, I" flat reveals. Where street sign blades are required, blades will be fabricated from .125"
thick aluminum, I" aluminum tubing, flat plates and ball ends. Copy to be reflective white vinyl
with decorative blue and white vinyl for the waves. All aluminum components to be powder
coated black. Back of all signs to have stickers with GraphPlex name, phone number and contact
information should a sign be damaged or de-faced. Sign Units to Produce:
Full Stop Sign Units. Units include 30" stop sign and two street sign blades. Intersections:

Terms: 50% deposit for work to commence. 25% upon completion of fabrication. Balance due
upon completion of installation.
Delivery: Approximately four months from approved proposal and deposit.

Traffic and street signs

We have completed the installation of all the detach signs for commUnlUes, parks and beach
accesses. At this time we would like to commence to chance the traffic signs (stop, yield, speed etc)
and the street signs through out the City. The first phase will be the Golden Shores community.
Enclosed are some samples of signs that are being used in another City that would resemble the
look of City of Sunny Isles Beach.

We are working with Miami Dade Public Works Department on an agreement to allow the City to
place our own style of illuminated street sign on Collins Avenue. If we come to an agreement then
we will come before you to request these signs. Attach is one sample of what we proposed to the
County.
If the City Commission desires to proceed to change the signs, we will get the sign contractor that
has done our previous detach sign to provide us with a quote. We would do the changes in phases.

No. 2008-1239, which approved the 1 sl Addendum to Community Signage Agreement

for witnessing and execution by Graph-Plex.
