A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
EST ABLISHING A SCHEDULE FOR CITY COMMISSION
MEETINGS FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2009; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission for the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to establish
a schedule of City Commission meetings for calendar year 2009; and
WHEREAS, the second Thursday of the month will be reserved for any City
Commission Workshops that may be needed beginning at 6:30 p.m.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section I. Approval of 2009 Schedule of Commission Meetings. The schedule for City
Commission meetings for calendar year 2009 shall be as set forth herein, and the second
Thursday of the month is reserved for any City Commission Workshops that may be needed
beginning at 6:30 p.m.:

Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

Resolution Establishing a Schedule for City Commission Meetings for Calendar
Year 2009
Recommendation:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution establishing a
schedule for City Commission meetings for calendar year 2009.
Reasons:
The City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to establish a regular schedule of
City Commission meetings for calendar year 2009. Consistent with the requirements of City
Code Section 74-6, all of the monthly meetings have been scheduled for the third Thursday of
each month beginning at 6:30 p.m., with the exception of the April 16, 2008 meeting which will
begin at 7:30 p.m. due to this being the last day of Passover. In addition, the City Manager is
recommending no regular Commission meeting in August as that is when several Budget
Workshops are scheduled.

At its regular meeting of September 18, 2008 the City Commission established a meeting schedule for 2009.
Please send individual invites for each meeting and the Commission Agenda Workshop to be held the Tuesday
before the Commission Meeting at 10:00 a.m. to the DepartmenUDivision Heads.
Further, for the Workshops please include the following message in the body of the invite: Only Direct Reports
are required to attend the Workshop(s) preceding the City Commission Meeting(s). Non-Direct Reports
are not required to attend the Workshop(s), unless otherwise directed by the City Manager andlor his
designee. Thanks.
