A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY
ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING BUDGET AMENDMENT NO.
BA0809-001 TO FISCAL YEAR 2008/2009 BUDGET, TO FUND VARIOUS
NEW AND/OR ADDITIONAL GOODS AND SERVICES NOT INCLUDED
IN THE APPROVED BUDGET, TO INCLUDE THE PROPERTY TAX
SETTLEMENT WITH MIAMI-DADE COUNTY ($250,000), RE-PLATTING
COSTS FOR HERITAGE PARK, GOVERNMENT CENTER AND AVILA
PROPERTY ($60,000), AVILA PROPERTY IMPROVEMENTS ($115,000),
AND AVILA PROPERTY ACQUISITION AND RELATED COSTS FOR
APPRAISALS, ETC. ($2,207,600); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF
THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has directed staff to provide for new and/or additional
goods and services that were not contemplated in the approved Fiscal Year 2008/2009 Budget;
and
WHEREAS, the implementation of these new and/or additional goods and services
requires certain minor budget amendment to the Fiscal Year 200812009 Budget;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Budget Amendments. The City Commission hereby approves
Budget Amendment No. BA0809-00l, for Fiscal Year 2008/2009 adopted budget:

Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.

RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the attached Major budget amendments.
BACKGROUND:
Maior Amendments
General Fund
A. $250,000 for property tax settlement with Miami-Dade County (Reso. 2008-1361)
B. $60,000 Re-platting costs for Heritage Park, government center and Avila property
C. $115,000 for Avila property improvements (lift station - $80,000; landscaping - $5,000; and
fencing ($30,000)
CIP Fund
D. $2,207,600 for Avilla property acquisition and related costs for appraisals, etc. (Reso. 2008-
1328)
Sum man'
The net impact on the Adopted budget of the First Quarter Major and Minor amendments is
summarized below. The 14 day posting for the Minor amendments expired on Friday, January
30, and we had no comments. Many of the amendments are transfers from one line item to
another and as a result do not change the Adopted Budget amounts.
