A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE
PURCHASE OF A PREFABRICATED RESTROOM UNIT FROM
AES PRECAST COMPANY, INC. FOR THE SENATOR GWEN
MARGOLIS PARK, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY-
THREE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($53,800.00);
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS
NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach owns the Senator Gwen Margolis Park,
located at 17815 North Bay Road which includes a shaded playground area, playground
equipment for toddlers and older children, sitting areas, picnic tables, a dog park, and a play field
used for organized games/practices scheduled for City-sponsored recreation; and
WHEREAS, several Sunny Isles Beach residents have asked the City to install public
restroom facilities at Senator Gwen Margolis Park; and
WHEREAS, the addition of a public facilities building would be an improvement that
would enhance the experience of park patrons who enjoy the park; and
WHEREAS, AES Precast Company, Inc. had provided the City with a prefabricated
bathroom for the Town Center Park, and is willing and able to provide a prefabricated restroom
unit to the City's specifications; and
WHEREAS, AES Precast Company, Inc., a sole source provider, submitted a proposal to
the City to provide a prefabricated restroom unit for the Senator Gwen Margolis Park, in an
amount not to exceed Fifty-Three Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($53,800.00), attached hereto
as Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, purchases from sole source vendors are exempt from the bidding
requirements of the City's procurement ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorization of Purchase. The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase
of a prefabricated restroom unit from AES Precast Company, Inc., for the Senator Gwen
Margolis Park, in an amount not to exceed Fifty-Three Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars
($53,800.00), as outlined in Exhibit "A", attached hereto.
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

Payment terms Net 30. Invoice to be paid in full within (6) six months of building completion. Delivery required within (1) one year of building completion. Final electrical and
plumbing connections to be made by others as well as site work unless otherwise noted. Contractor must provide level unobstructed area large enough for crane and tractor
trailer to park adjacent to pad. Crane must be able to place outriggers within 3'-0" of edge of pad and truck and crane must be able to get side-by-side under their own power. If
AES Precast is supplying the crane. no overhead lines or piping may be within 75' radius of center of pad and no building shall be placed closer than 2'-0" to an existing
structure. Firm roadbed with turns that allow 65' lowbed tractor and trailer must be provided directly to site. AES Precast is a GSA Contract Vendor. Price good for 90 days from
above date. Standard exterior finish of exposed aggregate will be chosen if no choice is made.

Senator Gwen Margolis Park Bathroom
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached Resolution for the purchase of
prefabricated bathrooms from AES Precast Company for Senator Gwen Margolis Park, in the
amount of $53,800.00.
REASONS
Part of the Central Island Drainage Project is to provide Senator Gwen Margolis Park with
proper drainage for the soccer field, parking area, walking trail and bathrooms. AES is a sole
source vendor for these precast units, as well as having worked with the City prior by providing
the bathrooms at Town Center Park. They have met their deadlines and have been on budget on
their previous job.
Fund are budgeted in 20-600-5671.
