A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR
THE USE OF BIODEGRADABLE TRASH BAGS IN THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is a "Green City" and as such, is always
looking for ways to enhance that effort; and
WHEREAS, biodegradable trash bags are a giant step toward that concept; and
WHEREAS, the City supports the use of biodegradable trash bags not only through our
residents but commercial establishments as well; and
WHEREAS, it is in the citizens of the City's best interest to use biodegradable trash
bags.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Express Support to Utilize Degradable Trash Bags. The City Commission hereby
encourages all residents and commercial establishments of the City to utilize biodegradable trash
bags helping the City's effort to become a "Green City".
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of May 2009.

to move towards the green concept.
