A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN IN-KIND
DONATION TO THE NORTH MIAMI BEACH LITTLE LEAGUE IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS
($350.00) FOR USE OF THE CHIEF FRED MAAS BASEBALL FIELD TO
PROVIDE THEIR CHALLENGER PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE
THIS RESOLUTION: PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,the City of Sunny Isles Beach is committed to providing a variety of quality
recreational opportunities to our community; and
WHEREAS, the North Miami Beach Little League and Sunny Isles Beach are dedicated
to activities that benefit the children of the Sunny Isles Beach community; and
WHEREAS, the North Miami Beach Little League organization has requested use of the
Chief Fred Maas Baseball Field to provide their Challenger Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is dedicated to supporting these activities
with an in-kind donation for the use of the field for up to fifteen (15) hours for this Program
which partners disabled players with able bodied players so that they can all get a chance to play
baseball on a field, in an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Approval of Donation. The City Commission hereby approves the in-kind
donation to the North Miami Beach Little League for use of the Chief Fred Maas Baseball Field
located at Pelican Community Park for their Challenger Program, in an amount not to exceed
Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($350.00).
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective .. doption.

RE: In-Kind Donation to North Miami Beach Little League
Challenger Program
RECOMMENDATION:
This item is presented for your consideration.
REASONS:
During the off season, the North Miami Beach Little League hosts the
Challenger Program. This program partners disabled players with able
bodied players so that they can enjoy participating in the great sport of
baseball. All of the players, coaches and participants are volunteers.
They are requesting free use of the Chief Fred Maas Baseball Field at
Pelican Community Park for up to 15 hours at an in-kind donation value
of$350.00.
FUNDING SOURCE:
No funding is required for approval of this resolution.
