A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO UTILIZE TIP
TOP DRY CLEANERS FOR DRY CLEANING SERVICES
FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED EIGHTEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($18,400.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO
EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department is in need of dry cleaning
services for its Police uniforms, to maintain the appearance and image of the Police Department;
and
WHEREAS, Tip Top Dry Cleaners, Inc. is the Police Department's current vendor and
the most responsive responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, the City being satisfied with the service provided by Tip Top Dry Cleaners,
approved the dry cleaning services on June 15, 2006 via Resolution No. 2006-929, and on May
15,2008 via Resolution No. 2008-1263; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police is now requesting to again get authorization to utilize Tip
Top Dry Cleaners, Inc. for dry cleaning services for the Police Department, in an amount not to
exceed Eighteen Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($18,400.00) from budgeted funds, as they
continue to provide pick-up and delivery services with competitive prices and satisfactorily
meets the Police Department's needs.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorization of Chief of Police. The City Commission hereby authorizes the
Chief of Police to utilize Tip Top Dry Cleaners for dry cleaning services for the Police
Department, in an amount not to exceed Eighteen Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($18,400.00).
Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on this 16th day of July 2009.

RE:
Authorization to expend up to $18,400. with Tip Top Dry Cleaners,
Inc. for the dry cleaning services for police uniforms.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution
authorizing the City Manager to approve the expenditure of budgeted funds in an
amount up to $18,400 (Eighteen thousand, four hundred dollars) to Tip Top Dry
Cleaners, Inc. for the dry cleaning services of police uniforms.
REASONS:
It is necessary to dry clean our police uniforms in order to maintain the quality,
appearance and image of the Police Department. Dry cleaning maintains the
material quality of the uniforms for an extended period of time, thus saving on
replacement costs. Tip Top Dry Cleaners provides pick-up and delivery services
with competitive prices and continues to satisfactorily meet our needs.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for the above services were budgeted and are available under the police
uniforms maintenance budget, Acct# 10-521-5522
