A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE PURCHASE OF
ARTWORK FROM CAPTAIN'S IMPORTS, IN AN AMOUNT OF
THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($30,000.00), A TT ACHED HERETO
AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO
ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION;
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach was desirous of purchasing artwork to be
placed around the City for the benefit and enjoyment of its citizens and tourists; and
WHEREAS, Captain's Imports provided a quote for the purchase of six (6) pieces of
artwork including a Dolphin Statue, Ring Around Rosie Statue, Baseball Players Statue, Baseball
Pitcher, Floral Metal Piece, and a Fish Metal Piece, in an amount of Thirty Thousand Dollars
($30,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ratifying the Purchase. The City Commission hereby approves the purchase of
the artwork from Captain's Imports, in an amount of Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000.00).
Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of October 2009.

Ratifying the Purchase of Artwork from Captain's Imports
RECOMMENDA TION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution ratifying the
purchase of artwork from Captain's Imports.
REASONS:
The City of Sunny Isles Beach is in need of art to be placed in locations throughout the
City for the benefit and enjoyment of its citizens and tourists. Staff have been looking at
different pieces of art and were able to get a quote from Captain's Imports on six (6)
pieces of artwork which included a Dolphin Statue, Ring Around Rosie Statue, Baseball
Players Statue, Baseball Pitcher, Floral Metal Piece and a Fish Metal Piece, in an amount
of $30,000.00. The majority of the money is from the Art in Public Places Fund.
