A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE APPROVAL OF
BUDGET AMENDMENT NO. BA0910-005 TO FISCAL YEAR
2009/2010 BUDGET FOR MAJOR AMENDMENTS:
UNANTICIPATED CHANGES TO OPERATING EXPENSES -
$100,950 FROM THE GENERAL FUND; PLANNED COMPLETION
OF SEVERAL PROJECTS - $714,000 FROM THE CIP FUND;
CENTRAL ISLAND DRAINAGE PROJECT - $550,000 FROM THE
STORMW A TER FUND; FINALIZE LAND ACQUISITIONS ON
SUNNY ISLES BOULEVARD - $8,350,000 FROM THE GENERAL
FUND TO THE LAND BANK FUND; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE
THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has directed staff to provide for new and/or additional
goods and services that were not contemplated in the approved Fiscal Year 2009/2010 Budget;
and
WHEREAS, the implementation of these new and/or additional goods and services
requires certain budget amendments to the Fiscal Year 2009/2010 Budget.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ratify Approval of Budget Amendments. The City Commission hereby ratifies
the approval of Budget Amendment No. BA0910-005, for Fiscal Year 2009/2010 adopted budget
for the following Major Amendments:
General Fund (10)
The General Fund amendments of $100,950 consist of unanticipated changes to operating
expenses:

Stormwater Fund (40)
The Stormwater Fund budget amendment IS for the Central Island Drainage project in the
amount of$550,000.

Land Bank Fund (50)
In the Land Bank Fund an additional estimated $8,350,000 (net of $2,000,000 already budgeted)
will be needed to finalize the remaining property acquisitions as follows: a $7,700,000 deposit
for the eminent domain case; $1,300,000 for acquisition of 488 Sunny Isles Boulevard; and
$1,350,000 Promissory note - Malibu Plaza, for the total estimated expenses of $10,350,000 less
the current budget of$2,000,000 for a total budget amendment of$8,350,000.
The net impact on the budget of the proposed First Quarter amendments is summarized below.
Any increase to the Amended Budget column indicates the use of reserves for some of the
budget amendments.

Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution.
Section 3.
Effective Date. This Resolution will become effective upon adoption.
