A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTION
NO. 2008-1242, REVISING THE SCHEDULE FOR CITY
COMMISSION MEETINGS FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2008 BY
ADDING A SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MEETING ON JULY
31, 2008, AT 5:30 P.M.; ADDING SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION
MEETINGS TENTATIVELY ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11,
2008, AND THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2008, AT 6:30 P.M., FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2008/2009 BUDGET HEARINGS; CANCELLING
THE AUGUST 21, 2008 REGULAR CITY COMMISSION
MEETING; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to revise the
established schedule of City Commission meetings for the remainder of calendar year 2008; and
WHEREAS, specifically the City Commission wishes to add a Special City
Commission meeting on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 5:30 p.m., and add Special City
Commission meetings tentatively on Thursday, September 11, 2008, and Thursday,
September 25,2008, at 6:30 p.m., for Fiscal Year 2008/2009 budget hearings at 6:30 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to cancel the Regular City Commission
meeting scheduled on August 21, 2008.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. Approval of Revised 2008 Schedule of Commission Meetings. The schedule for
City Commission meetings for calendar year 2008 shall be revised as set forth herein:

Resolution Revising City Commission Meeting 2008 Schedule
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution amending the
schedule of City Commission meetings for the remainder of the year 2008, by adding Special
City Commission meetings for Fiscal Year 2008/2009 Budget Hearings, and cancelling the
August 21, 2008 Regular City Commission meeting.
REASONS:
We need to schedule Special City Commission meetings for the purpose of establishing a
Millage rate and consideration of adoption of a proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2008/2009,
which needs to be scheduled around the Miami-Oade County Commission and Miami-Oade
County School Board meeting schedules. Therefore it is requested that the City Commission
schedule a Special City Commission meeting tentatively on Thursday, September 11, 2008, at
6:30 p.m., for the First Budget Hearing; and on Thursday, September 25, 2008, at 6:30 p.m., to
adopt the Final Budget.
Also, we are requesting to cancel the August 21, 2008 Regular City Commission as there are no
items scheduled for this meeting.
