A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) FORD F150
HALF-TON PICKUP TRUCK (4X4) AND SPRAY-ON
BED LINER FROM GUS MACHADO FORD FOR THE
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED EIGHTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($18,500.00), A TT ACHED HERETO AS
EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS
RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, during last year's budget workshops, the City's vehicle fleet was carefully
analyzed and the purchase of several vehicles was authorized; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department surveyed its fleet inventory and found that
four (4) vehicles were overdue to be replaced; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department now needs to purchase a Ford F150 Half-Ton
Pickup Truck (4x4) and Spray-On Bed1iner from Gus Machado Ford under the Florida Sheriffs
Association of Counties Purchasing Contract No, 08-16-0908, in an amount not to exceed
Eighteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($18,500,00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, staff determined that the above charges were reasonable and customary for
said purchase and recommends that the Commission approve the purchase; and
WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $18,500,00 is available in the budgeted account.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1, Authorization of Purchase, The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase
of one (1) Ford F150 Half-Ton Pickup Truck (4x4) and Spray-On Bedliner from Gus Machado
Ford for the Public Works Department, in an amount not to exceed Eighteen Thousand Five
Hundred Dollars ($18,500,00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A",
Section 2, Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all
things necessary to effectuate this Resolution,
Section 3,
Effective Date, This Resolution will become effective upon adoption,
PASSED AND ADOPTED on this 19th day of March 2009,

Approval to Purchase One (1) Ford F150 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck (4X4) and
Spray-on Bedliner from Gus Machado Ford Not to Exceed $18,500.00
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the City
Manager to purchase one (1) Ford F150 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck (4X4) and spray-on bedliner in an
amount not to exceed $18,500,00.
REASONS:
During last year's budget workshops, the City's vehicle fleet was carefully analyzed and the
purchase of several vehicles was authorized, The Public Works Department surveyed its fleet
inventory and found that four (4) vehicles were overdue (by several years) to be replaced, As a
result of its age and condition, the Public Works Department now needs to replace vehicle No,
0198 (Ford F150) that was purchased in 1998, One (1) new Ford F150 1/2 Ton pickup truck will
be purchased from Gus Machado Ford under the Florida Sheriffs Association of Counties
Contract No, 08-16-0908 as well as a spray-on bedliner in an amount not to exceed $18,500.00.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Competitive bidding requirements have been met through the Florida Sheriffs Association of
Counties Contract No. 08-16-0908.
