A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 2009-1525 AMENDING THE
SCHEDULE FOR CITY COMMISSION MEETINGS FOR
CALENDAR YEAR 2010 BY CHANGING THE TIME OF
THE REGULAR CITY COMMISSION MEETING ON
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14,2010 TO 6:00 P.M.; ADDING A
SPECIAL COMMISSION MEETING ON THURSDAY,
SEPTEMBER 2, 2010 AT 6:00 P.M. TO HEAR AN APPEAL;
ADDING SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MEETINGS
TENTATIVELY ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14,2010 AND
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2010, AT 6:00 P.M., FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2010/2011 BUDGET HEARINGS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission for the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to amend
the schedule of City Commission meetings for calendar year 2010 by changing the time of the
Regular City Commission Meeting on Thursday, October 14, 2010 to 6:00 p.m.; adding a
Special City Commission Meeting on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. to hear an
appeal regarding a Historic Preservation Board historic site designation, and adding
Special City Commission Meetings tentatively on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 and
Tuesday, September 28,2010, at 6:00 p.m., for Fiscal Year 2010/2011 Budget Hearings.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. Approval of Amended 2010 Schedule of Commission Meetings. The schedule for
City Commission meetings for calendar year 2010 shall be amended as set forth herein, and the
third Tuesday of the month is reserved for City Commission Workshops beginning at 10:00 a.m.,
with the October City Commission Workshop scheduled on Tuesday, October 12, 2010
beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Section 2.
Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.

Resolution Revising City Commission Meeting 2010 Schedule
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution amending the
schedule of City Commission meetings for the remainder of the year 2010, by changing
the starting time of the October 14, 2010 regular meeting, and by adding Special City
Commission meetings.
REASONS:
It is requested that the October 14, 2010 City Commission meeting starting time be
moved to 6:00 p.m. due to the Jazz Festival event. We also need to schedule a Special
City Commission meeting to hear an appeal regarding the Historic Preservation Board
designation of Temple B'Nai Zion as an Historic Site. We also need to schedule Special
City Commission meetings for the purpose of establishing a Millage rate and
consideration of adoption of a proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2010/2011, which needs
to be scheduled around the Miami-Dade County Commission and Miami-Dade County
School Board meeting schedules. Therefore it is requested that the City Commission
schedule a Special City Commission meeting tentatively on Tuesday, September 14,
2010, at 6:00 p.m., for the First Budget Hearing; and on Tuesday, September 28,2010, at
6:00 p.m., to adopt the Final Budget.
