Vera, Assistant City Manager/Service Division DATE: 6/17/2010 RE: Concession Stand for Skateboard Park RECOMMENDATION: The attached Resolution is submitted to the City Commission for their consideration and approval. REASONS: The City approved the construction of a skateboard park within Town Center Park with amenities. One of the amenities is a concession stand to service the patrons of the skateboard park. At a prior Commission meeting the City Commission deferred this item in order to address the size of the concession stand. After receiving imput from possible vendors that would run the concession stand, it was decided that the concession stand would need to be larger. A lOX 20 concession stand would accommodate the storage space for rental equipment at the skateboard park as well as an area for refreshments. AES Precast Company, Inc. is a sole source provider and has submitted a proposal to the City to provide a prefabricated concession stand at a cost not to exceed $51,230. AES has previously provided other prefabricated units for the City and have been on time and within budget. Purchases from sole source vendors are exempt from the bidding requirements of the City's procurement ordinance.
